A garland of hand sewn decorated pockets, to fill with small treats to count down the days to advent. Each pocket is approximately 10x10cm, with a small, folded flap to thread a string through to hang the pockets and make a bunting.

Thank-you for selecting this little pattern. Decorative designs on the pockets are a suggestion only, choose colours that speak to you and your festive preferences. I have been inspired by Australian natives, wattle, flowering gum, and bush daisies.

You can keep this a simple as you like. I have used running stitch, or straight stitched to attach most of the elements. Other embroidery stitches used were blanket stitch, French knots, and fly stitch. You will need to decorate each pocket before you stitch it into a pocket.

String as a long garland of bunting, or in shorter lengths to fit your wall, you can hang in order or muddle it up to add the challenge of fining the daily pocket. If you are pushed for time, you could just make a few pockets and add to your collection in future years.
